Donate While You Shop
We have an Amazon Charity Wishlist where we have listed items that we need. If you want to help out but prefer to give concrete gifts rather than monetary donations, please check out our wishlist! There are items to fit any budget.
You can also support us while you buy your groceries! If you shop at Kroger, you can register your Kroger Plus Card in the Kroger Community Rewards program. Create an account there and register your card. Search for Lew Wallace Study Preservation Society or for our organization number, EH156. After you select our organization and click confirm, it should display on the right side of your information page. Then just buy your groceries as usual. Every time you use your Kroger Plus Card, we’ll get a portion of that donated to our organization!
Volunteer
The General Lew Wallace Study & Museum is in need of enthusiastic history buffs and Lew Wallace fans to donate a few hours per month giving tours of the General’s Study!
Visitor Services Team
Tours: You’re a good fit if you enjoy meeting new people and ensuring visitors have a quality experience at the Museum. Visitor Services team members will give tours to adults and students, and may be asked to help with large group tours. Hours needed vary, but Saturdays from 11 am – 2 pm are particularly vital.
Front Desk: If you don’t want to give tours, but you enjoy interacting with the public and answering the telephone, this might be a good fit for you. Ideally you’re comfortable learning how to run a cash register and credit card machine as well.
Clerical Assistance: If you enjoy filing, folding, and mailing, this is the job for you! This is a great way for introverts to help out without interacting with the public. Currently this is the lowest priority of volunteer work.
If you are interested in volunteering, please download an application and return it to the Carriage House Interpretive Center.
Applications can be mailed to: General Lew Wallace Study & Museum, PO Box 662, Crawfordsville, IN 47933 or scanned and emailed to study@ben-hur.com.
If you would like to learn more, please contact 765-362-5769 or study@ben-hur.com
